13:17:20 |
RandallNeustaedter |
I like colostrum for kids if they are
not sensitive to dairy. Nu Life is good.
Of course kids at this age can also take
a high quality fish oil supplement, cod
liver oil during the winter. But
breastfeeding is the best preventive!
Keep it up. |

Eczema is inherited or caused by
vaccines or allergic reactions. I assume
you use laundry soap and cotton
clothing. So the next step is Chinese
herbs. An excellent formula is Fire
Fighter made by Chinese Modular
Solutions and available from Kan Herbs,
but only to doctors. So talk to your
naturopath. I would recommend switching
you fish oil, not flax, and adding vit E
200 IU. |

Holistic and naturopathic are usually
synonyms. Homeopathy denotes use of
homeopathic meds. Chinese medicine
includes acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and
massage techniques within a traditional
Chinese medicine philosophy. I am an

It is not appropriate to treat ear
infections with antibiotics. Just for
the record. You can see a professional
homeopath and get a constitutional
medicine that fits his entire picture.
There is an excellent formula for ear

Hi, have 8mo. old and starting solids,
rice etc causes constipation. any
chinese med formula recommend. Also,
what about need for iron? And, in
general is Chin med or homeopathy better
for infants/toddlers? |
|
14:01:54 |
jess |
and any other help for weaning ideas?
thank you |
|
14:03:18 |
RandallNeustaedter |
No rice for kids under 12 months. Babies
should be checked for anemia by a doctor
at 8 or 9 months when iron stores tend
to wear out. The best herbal formula TCM
for GI sxs in babies is Grow and Thrive
by CMS (Kan herbs) Rx only. homeopathy
is perfectly safe. |
|

|
14:04:12 |

I recommend that babies nurse for 12 mos
if at all possible, longer is always
better. |
|
14:04:32 |
jess |
i agree :) |
|
14:05:34 |
RandallNeustaedter |
Babies will get iron from green veges.
Make soup in a blender with kale, chard,
etc. added. Egg yolks are an appropriate
food after 6 mos, not whites. |
|
14:05:52 |
jess |
thank you |
|
14:06:25 |
RandallNeustaedter |
You can also freeze some cooked organic
chicken liver and shave it into food for
babies as an iron source. |
|
14:06:48 |
jess |
oh, and is kelp good too? |
|
14:08:16 |
RandallNeustaedter |
Weaning - you don't want to give formula
unles you must, so nurse until they are
eating lots of solids if possible. Then
start cutting out the easiest feedings
during the day. Nurse for sleeping. If
you are cosleeping forget weaning. The
only way to do that is to leave the baby
with dad or grandma for a weekend and
cold turkey the night. |

I have a newborn 5 months old and really
want to treat any illness as naturally
as possible. I have my homeopathic
remedies and a couple books so I feel
okay on that end but what about herbal
treatments? |
|
14:15:03 |

There are some good books on herbs, but
many are not appropriate for kids. I
recommend professionals for herbal tx. |

Do not give grains to children under 12
months. They contribute to allergies and
intestinal irritation. The complex carbs
and proteins are too hard for them to
process. |

Cows milk causes lots of problems,
allergies, mucus, intestinal gas and
irritation. But some kids can tolerate
it. Do not give homogenized milk, and us
unpasteurized (raw) if possible. |

Talk to La Leche or a lactation

milk |
