19:18:15 mikesgirl64 haha thats ok
19:19:08 host_Cuddlebaby so where is her eczema?
19:19:18 host_Cuddlebaby and huge huge kudos to YOU for searching it out!
19:19:25 host_Cuddlebaby it meaning the allergy.
19:19:50 host_Cuddlebaby you each own at least one of my nappie wraps  :)
19:20:02 TurboClaudia yes, we like it lots
19:20:44 host_Cuddlebaby yeah they are the tested, tried and true ones to rely on like when out nd about, for hte diaperbag  :)
19:21:00 mikesgirl64 shes got rashes all over esp in her diaper area
19:21:06 host_Cuddlebaby sorry about the bad typing, squirmy baby on top of arms!
19:21:15 host_Cuddlebaby oh ick!
19:21:26 host_Cuddlebaby creases then, right/
19:21:31 mikesgirl64 i love how well they cover i have a bumware cover and its too small
19:22:07 host_Cuddlebaby did I send you some fleece liners Mandy?
19:22:17 mikesgirl64 yep we tried every rash cream out there , burts works decent but only if applied reliogously
19:22:36 mikesgirl64 yea those have helped to i always use fleece on her
19:22:46 host_Cuddlebaby in diaper area...different recommendations for eczema than for other areas....
19:22:58 host_Cuddlebaby renew by melaluca....
19:23:03 host_Cuddlebaby aquafor...
19:23:19 mikesgirl64 yea we use te aquaphor now too
19:23:21 host_Cuddlebaby good, def needs it for that eczema!
19:23:48 host_Cuddlebaby I used elidel for Colton, but only in non diaper areas...is it in her creases?
19:24:03 mikesgirl64 yep in armpits too
19:24:07 host_Cuddlebaby you know about frequent quick baths, right?
19:24:12 mikesgirl64 so irritated looking
19:24:23 host_Cuddlebaby yeah, and it'll migrate....
19:24:26 mikesgirl64 she only gets one every 3 days??
19:24:49 host_Cuddlebaby it'll go anywhere there is a crease and sometimes get bad enough to not be in creases...Colton had it over 80% of his body...
19:24:55 mikesgirl64 my poor dirty one hah a
19:25:10 host_Cuddlebaby that's okay...
19:25:35 host_Cuddlebaby make them quick though, cuz too long in the tub will reduce hydration, you know the raisin fingers?  don't leave in that long...
19:25:45 host_Cuddlebaby but a quick bath will help rehydrate...
19:25:55 mikesgirl64 ok quick baths well tery it :)
19:26:10 host_Cuddlebaby I once had a pediatrician tell me to bathe him, then put a WET onsie on him then cover with a poly sleeper....
19:26:17 host_Cuddlebaby I wouldn't do it though  :)
19:26:34 mikesgirl64 haha i feel like shed get cold
19:26:43 host_Cuddlebaby yeah...
19:27:03 host_Cuddlebaby but if you think about why he said, that, it's to add back in moisture...
19:27:21 host_Cuddlebaby but it's all treating the symptom....
19:27:27 host_Cuddlebaby YOU found out the CAUSE....
19:27:31 TurboClaudia my mom used renew by melaleuca on her eczema and she said it was very soothing.
19:27:33 mikesgirl64 we have a big shipment of aios coming they are actually ai2 with snap in soakers
19:27:44 host_Cuddlebaby With colton it was eggs, wheat, dairy and peanuts...
19:27:44 mikesgirl64 i got from diaperswappers
19:27:51 host_Cuddlebaby still can't get him to eat any of those things!
19:27:59 mikesgirl64 wow
19:28:08 host_Cuddlebaby nodding claudia!
19:28:13 host_Cuddlebaby glad you are still here!
19:28:14 TurboClaudia just wheat, rebecca? not gluten?
19:28:29 mikesgirl64 im going to try eliminating the soy it looks like its going to be tough
19:28:44 host_Cuddlebaby we just had the more general blood test, the test wasn't specific enough to identify gluten, but you are right, probably was gluten, usually is.
19:29:20 TurboClaudia yeah, anything processed or boxed or packaged that says vegetable protein" or "vegetable protein isolate" is probably soy, so you may have to do a lot of whole food eating from scratch and such."
19:29:27 host_Cuddlebaby When we were going through ours, I UPPED my soy (to get rid of dairy) so I'm really not sure what all soy is in other than soy milk.
19:29:35 host_Cuddlebaby oh!!!
19:29:38 host_Cuddlebaby yeah!  of corse!
19:29:48 mikesgirl64 i thought bf was supposed to help w this - am i still suffering theough sore nipples for no reason
19:30:14 host_Cuddlebaby hmm, no tongue tie Mandy?
19:30:17 mikesgirl64 so stressful
19:30:25 TurboClaudia it probably is helping!  just think about what your baby could have faced if you were not breastfeeding!
19:30:33 host_Cuddlebaby breastfeeding DOES help with this, you only have ONE allergy!  could be more!
19:30:40 TurboClaudia how old is your bab, mandy?
19:30:41 mikesgirl64 i dont know i need to get my ll to answer the phone i need a pro
19:30:45 host_Cuddlebaby and probably would be if she was getting cow milk formula..
19:30:48 mikesgirl64 6 months
19:31:12 host_Cuddlebaby has she ever stuck her tongue all theway out?  past her lips?
19:31:17 mikesgirl64 weve been battling thrush mastitis, and now eczema on the nipples for 4 momths now
19:31:40 host_Cuddlebaby did she ever get thrush/yeast on her bottom?
19:31:56 TurboClaudia if you get a chance, read through the mommychats transcript from linda folden palmer's talk last week (or maybe the week before??).  someone asked her about allergies, and she had some great info.
19:32:15 TurboClaudia she wrote a book that would probably be really helpful for you, too.  let me see if i can find the title...
19:32:21 mikesgirl64 no i dont think shes ever stuck it out at all - but her lach on the right doesnt hurt me, just the left although both sides have the rash
19:33:02 TurboClaudia what are you doing to treat the yeast/thrush?
19:33:14 mikesgirl64 she did for  a while mouth and bum but it was gone pretty quickly
19:34:06 host_Cuddlebaby I happen to be on the transcripts page, which category would that be under?
19:34:36 mikesgirl64 apparently its not thrush anymore we used nystatn, lotramin, genation biolet, i take acidiphilous, and galic
19:34:49 TurboClaudia it was a mothering chat, rebecca.
19:35:03 host_Cuddlebaby oops, lost her.
19:35:08 host_Cuddlebaby here she comes back
19:35:11 host_Cuddlebaby wb
19:35:16 TurboClaudia have you tried grapefruit seed extract?
19:35:29 mikesgirl64 sorry tried to go to transcripts :)
19:35:45 TurboClaudia and have you cut out all sugar and white flour from your diet?
19:36:27 TurboClaudia have you found you crave sugar or starchy foods?  'cause that's a sure sign the yeasties are still thriving...
19:36:36 mikesgirl64 no that was nect on my list i went to infectioys diseases he said maybe b its ot thrush looks like eczema and treated w steriods which helped a lot still not right though
19:36:40 host_Cuddlebaby http://mommychats.com/mothering/lindapalmer.htm
19:37:16 mikesgirl64 attempting a laydown brb:)
19:37:47 TurboClaudia gentian violet worked okay for us the first time, but not so good the second.  so i got some liquid grapefruit seed extract and followed dr jay gordon's instructions for using it from www.drjaygordon.com
19:37:54 host_Cuddlebaby I can't imagine yeast and eczema together, icky combination.
19:38:06 TurboClaudia yeah, i imagine it's not fun...
19:38:26 host_Cuddlebaby I missed jack newman!!!
19:38:57 host_Cuddlebaby wait that's tomorrow!
19:42:06 TurboClaudia yes, jack newman tomorrow. but we'll be at the library for book babies group...
19:42:09 TurboClaudia oh well...
19:42:30 TurboClaudia i met him in person a few years ago at a local breastfeeding conference.  he's awesome.
19:42:33 mikesgirl64 unsucessful :)
19:42:46 mikesgirl64 shed rther sleep in my arms
19:42:56 host_Cuddlebaby same story here mandy.
19:43:05 host_Cuddlebaby Sarah's now the the queen of the 5 minute nap...
19:43:08 TurboClaudia will she sleep in a sling?  that's the only place our little man would sleep for long stretches.
19:43:10 mikesgirl64 thanks for the tips ill try those sites
19:43:17 host_Cuddlebaby wakes WIDE up when I separate myself from her.
19:43:25 host_Cuddlebaby lucky you to meet Dr Newman!
19:43:53 host_Cuddlebaby Mandy, I'm reading those transcripts and they ARE good, allergy info right at the beginning!
19:44:05 TurboClaudia yep, i remember that.  he's generally better about it now that he's 16 months, but the past couple of days i've just really needed him to nap at the usual time after lunch and he will have nothing to do with it.
19:44:15 TurboClaudia instead, he's napping now.
19:44:23 TurboClaudia an hour before he eats dinner
19:44:27 TurboClaudia :shrug
19:44:36 z2akids So am I early or late?

19:45:45 z2akids Okay, It's 8 eastern then?
19:45:47 mikesgirl64 kier sleeps in her crib really well just sometimes shed rather me hold her
19:45:54 mikesgirl64 haha :)
19:46:10 z2akids Ha, Abigail has spent a total of 3 hours in her crib since birth
19:46:21 mikesgirl64 haha claudia at least hes napping
19:46:21 host_Cuddlebaby yeah, is that what i posted?
19:47:05 z2akids You posted backwards - 6 eastern, 7 central, etc.  Eastern is an hour later than central, etc.  lol
19:47:09 mikesgirl64 we started out cosleeping bt with her reflux she was miserable until we started putting her in her careseat in her crib
19:47:21 host_Cuddlebaby we were talking allergies and baby sleep habits jennifer
19:47:27 z2akids So, if you go by all of the times you listed backwards, it would be 9 eastern  ;)
19:47:42 mikesgirl64 kiers allergic to soy - the cause ofher eczema
19:47:43 z2akids Oh, I understand that.
19:47:57 z2akids Have you had her to an allergist?
19:48:05 mikesgirl64 thi afternoon
19:48:44 z2akids I still can't believe that they did an allergy test on her already.  With both the boys they said they weren't done before 2 years old - then again all docs are a bit different
19:49:38 mikesgirl64 yea my nephews been going here since he was around her age...they seem pretty good
19:49:44 host_Cuddlebaby im now nirsing colton (2 1/2) cuz daddy yelled at him for putting his fingers in wet paint
19:50:00 mikesgirl64 and very happy to he we were ebf and waiting until  months to start solids
19:50:11 host_Cuddlebaby allergist dod test on colton at one month
19:50:18 mikesgirl64 oh poor colton :)
19:50:28 host_Cuddlebaby blood test---but thats cuz i refused the skin test
19:50:45 mikesgirl64 i was a little weirded out about the skin test
19:51:07 mikesgirl64 its introducing allergens at some level isnt it
19:51:13 z2akids If it makes you feel any better, Alexander was 2 when he had it and he didn't complain at all - and if it bothered him much, he would have complained
19:51:29 z2akids Oh on that scale.  Yeah, I do find that strange
19:51:39 mikesgirl64 she didnt act like she bnoticed either
19:52:15 host_Cuddlebaby !yeah mandy
19:53:29 mikesgirl64 but i didnt know there was another option - guess i shouldve donesome research
19:53:52 host_Cuddlebaby huge hugs.  I'm jsut glad you found out.
19:54:13 host_Cuddlebaby I have a neighbor boy who is 11 and has TERRIBLE eczema all over his arms, scratches until he bleeds...
19:54:28 host_Cuddlebaby I KNOW he's addicted to dairy...mom refuses to take him to a dr or care at all.
19:54:42 host_Cuddlebaby does she scratch it?
19:54:56 host_Cuddlebaby I was amazed that Colton actually COULD scratch it at just a month old.
19:55:02 host_Cuddlebaby intentionally.
19:55:15 host_Cuddlebaby he had to do it a few times before I knew he was doing it intentionally.
19:55:20 host_Cuddlebaby today he is eczema free.
19:55:27 host_Cuddlebaby must have a few grumpy babies here.
19:55:33 host_Cuddlebaby My olders are playing with Sarah  :)
19:55:33 TurboClaudia oops... i spoke too soon
19:55:52 TurboClaudia he's up now, and he'll probably want cuddles so no hands free for typing...
19:55:59 TurboClaudia so take care, mamas!
19:56:02 TurboClaudia bye
19:56:05 mikesgirl64 bye claudia
19:56:14 host_Cuddlebaby bye claudia!
19:56:25 z2akids bye
19:56:37 mikesgirl64 she doesnt intenionally scratch a it
19:57:01 host_Cuddlebaby I bet she does...is it bloody from scratching in it?
19:57:04 mikesgirl64 although until we got a decent hold on the diaper area shed freak when i changed it
19:57:37 mikesgirl64 not now although it has been off and on
19:57:51 host_Cuddlebaby is it in her creases?
19:57:59 z2akids Are you using sposie wipes?
19:58:05 mikesgirl64 nope
19:58:11 mikesgirl64 yes in creases
19:58:18 mikesgirl64 nope sposie wipes
19:58:21 host_Cuddlebaby nodding, sure sign of eczema then.
19:58:26 z2akids :(
19:58:32 mikesgirl64 we actually just piur water on her and patdry
19:58:44 host_Cuddlebaby Colton even got it on his cheeks (face) as well as in every single crease....
19:58:50 host_Cuddlebaby after it settled in..
19:58:55 mikesgirl64 yikes
19:58:56 z2akids Okay, I know it's semi controversial, but have you talked to your doc about - ugh the name of the excema cream just escaped me
19:59:04 host_Cuddlebaby elidel
19:59:08 z2akids yeah that
19:59:23 host_Cuddlebaby I used that eventhough I shun medicine of all sorts...
19:59:24 mikesgirl64 im brand new to the eczema scene so i have to start my reaearch
19:59:29 host_Cuddlebaby it DID work....really well.
19:59:44 mikesgirl64 why contoversial?
19:59:51 z2akids It works really well.  But, the government recently came out and said it can cause cancer
19:59:57 host_Cuddlebaby BUT he did break out in chicken pox but only initially...and it wasn't the regular disease.
20:00:13 host_Cuddlebaby that was FROM the elidel.
20:00:19 z2akids I haven't really looked at the research though.  We haven't used it in quite a while and only used it very sparingly
20:00:19 host_Cuddlebaby I hadn't heard the cancer stuff.
20:00:36 host_Cuddlebaby jennifer wher eis your kids' eczema?
