not as much as i'd like to be. i teach parents to sign with
their babies, we have 11 instructors, one of them is Deaf,
one has a Deaf instructor and then there are other
connections with other instructors |

My 2yo used a spontaneous sign w/ me the other day. I was
eating a tv dinner (which I never use!) and it was steaming
so he signed HOT ... too cool |

he was so excited about HOT ... his eyes got really really
big seeing the steam and I actually have never heard him say
the word hot, so I think the sign came to him before the

my 11 year old has really taken over teaching the little
kids through the signing times videos ... they are up to
video four now. He has them watch once a day and does
reviews and tests them all and in general makes a big game
out of it. |

We went to a buffet the other day and it was really fun to
see Isaiah (2yo) using his food signs at the buffet, the
ones that were appropriate anyway. |

Plus, oddly, his speech has improved immensely in the 3
weeks or month or whatever we have been doing this. I think
it's because of the way the video repeats the words a
jillion times and nice and slowly so he has started copying
it. |
