So who is the webmama of this wonderful new chat site?
That would be me!
My name is Tina, and I am a stay-at-home/work-at-home, attachment
parenting, homeschooling, mom of one spunky daughter (11/00) who
is forever keeping me in awe of childhood insights...an angel
baby boy (fullterm stillborn, 8lbs 12oz on 4/04 for reasons unknown)
who is never forgotten and always missed...and a rambunctious
son (7/05) that keeps me constantly on my toes!
I currently have 2 home businesses...a
local family resource website and of course, this site. I
also am author of the book "How
to Create a High Quality Mommy & Me Program." None
of these are particular money-makers, yet, but I enjoy them
immensely...and they allow me to help a bit with the family
income.
I am a very passionate person...Here's just a few things I am
passionate about (in no particular order)...my daughter, my
sons, my
husband and other family, mommies needing mommies,
breastfeeding, attachment parenting, natural childbirth, vbac
(vaginal birth after c-section), homebirth, homeschooling,
positive discipline (vs. punitive), process-oriented art
experiences for children (vs. product-oriented), child-directed
learning (vs. teacher-directed), books/reading, open-ended &
high quality, non-violent, non-gender biased children's toys
(vs. 99% of the crap that's currently available in mainstream
toy stores like Toys R Us), intact baby boys (vs. circumcision),
staying home with my children, educating myself & others (when
others are open to it), supporting work-at-home-mom
businesses...
Some of the
things I like to do, aside from spend time with my family...work
on my websites, do online research on whatever topic is burning
within me at the moment, cross-stitch (no time for lately), sew children's dress-up
clothes (no time, but someday I'll have time again), read a nonfiction book (I prefer to be learning
something when I read...although I do also enjoy fiction,
particularly sci-fi/fantasy) on parenting, homeschooling, world religions, or
computer programs that I have, email friends, balance our
checkbook with Quicken (I'm one of those odd people who really
enjoys doing our finances, lol!), get involved in a project
involving whatever is my current burning passion...Some of the
things I've been and am involved in...helped create and continue to
work on organizing our
local annual BabyFest, including doing the website, created
and continue to organize my
local LARGE attachment parenting ("AP") group which was
started in 2001 and has grown to over 150 mamas strong, and
constantly growing...help organize local homeschool field trips
for our
local secular homeschool group (which I helped create the
egroup and continue to help moderate)...created and continue to
moderate "AP
Moms Connect" a yahoogroup for helping to connect AP moms
all over the world with local like-minded mamas...
Oh there's lots
more, but I digress...
That's enough about me for now!
